Dr. Bedoya After obtaining his degree in Chemical Engineering, Dr. Bedoya continued with his graduate studies at the University of South Florida. He conducted research analyzing mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from primary samples of patients suffering from leukemia and lymphoma, and found that aberrant mtDNA configurations are associated with the process of tumorigenesis in lymphoid cells.

In 2009, Dr. Bedoya graduated with a M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences and a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine. Dr. Bedoya then continued his research training as a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Immunology and Vaccine Design at The Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, PA. He conducted research for the next four years in the field of immunology understanding the biology of virus-reactive regulatory T cells (Tregs) in the context of infection. In the summer of 2013, Dr. Bedoya joined the Translational Research Program at the University of Pennsylvania as part of the Process Development team. In January 2014, Dr. Bedoya transitioned into the role of Director of the Product Development Laboratory. Dr. Bedoya has been recipient of several research training grants and has co-authored original research articles in the areas of immunology and leukemia.
