Felicity joined the University of Huddersfield in February 2015 as Professor of Nursing and Applied Health Research. She started her career as a registered nurse and worked mainly in acute care settings. She completed her PhD (Health Psychology) at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and has enjoyed various roles as a clinical nurse specialist, researcher and lecturer during her career. Her joint appointment, with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, provides opportunities for partnership working with NHS clinicians, patients and carers, and an opportunity to translate research into practice.

Felicity’s research focus has been upon improving healthcare for people with cardiovascular disease. She has also undertaken a variety of leadership roles within academic settings, professional organisations and charities. Felicity has a keen interest in student education. In particular she is keen to mentor health professionals who may be reluctant leaders who need encouragement to grow their confidence and realise their potential.
