Dr. Fatma Al Marashi is currently the CEO/Medical Director & Consultant of Dr. Fatma Almarashi Advanced Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (FACED). She was the chair of Internal Medicine, and chair of the Research and Ethics Committee at Al Rahba Hospital in Abu Dhabi, in affiliation with John Hopkins International (JHI) before moving to her own center. Dr. AlMarashi served as the Medical Director at University Hospital, part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center in Dubai Healthcare City, where she was developing strategies for the Medical and Physicians Affairs Departments. Dr. Fatma AlMarashi is the first UAE physician to earn American double Board Certification. She is American Board Certified in Internal Medicine/Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Dr. AlMarashi earned her medical degree from Shiraz Medical School. She focused on Internal Medicine as her first specialty as a resident at St. Vincent Hospital, a University of Massachusetts affiliate, in Worcester, MA, U.S.A. She furthered her specialization by completing a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, TX, U.S.A. She received her training from MD- Anderson and Herman Hospital, Houston Texas, U.S.A, and the Texas Institute of Reproductive Medicine (TIRME). Dr. AlMarashi has active Medical licenses in Texas and California besides having a DHCC license. After coming back to UAE in 1998, Dr. AlMarashi rejoined Al Baraha Hospital MOH. She founded the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Al Baraha Hospital and served as the Chair for five years. In her dedicated efforts to improve the healthcare status and prevent Diabetes in UAE. In 1999, she founded and served as Chairperson of the U.A.E National Diabetes Control committee in the Ministry of Health and acted as a U.A.E representative in the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Diabetes Control Committee in striving to control the rising number of diabetes cases in the area. She was also a member of the Drug Formulary Committee in the Ministry of Health from 2001-2003. She has consulted at multiple healthcare facilities in UAE including Al Kuwaiti, Neurospinal, and American Hospitals, and filled the position as Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Welcare Hospital later. She has participated in several International Conferences as a speaker and course director. She has been featured in many national TV programs for Diabetes and other Endocrinology Problems. She was a contributing writer for the Healthcare Middle-East Journal providing physician and patient education material on the topic of Endocrinology and Diabetes. Dr. AlMarashi is a member of several International Scientific Associations (ADA, Endo-Society USA, AACE USA, and Obesity Society USA.) She was a member of the abstract sub-committee and the Media and Public Relations Sub Committee for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), USA. She is an Ex-board member of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA) and ex-chairperson of the EMA Scientific committee. Dr. AlMarashi is liked and trusted by her patients. She has patients following her anywhere she practices in UAE.
