Fatimah Binti Ibrahim received her B.Sc.E.E. from Marquette University, USA in 1989. She obtained her M.Sc. Electronics (Medical Systems) from the University of Hertfordshire, UK in 1994 and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia in 2005. She has been a certified Chartered Professional Engineer with a Practicing Certificate (PEPC) since 2012.
Currently, she is a Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, UM, head of the Centre for Innovation in Medical Engineering, and advisor of the Center of Printable Electronics UM. Her research interests include the detection and monitoring of infectious diseases and foodborne pathogens, carbon MEMS/NEMS biosensing, diagnostics, bio instrumentation, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things (IoT) integration in medicine as well as physiological measurement and modeling.
