Fátima Rodrigues has a degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (1987), specializing in Pneumology (1995). She has been a graduate hospital assistant in Pulmonology since 2005.

She completed his Masters's in Pathology of the Respiratory System in 2002 with the thesis "Study of Pulmonary Hyperinflation as a limiting factor of physical exercise in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease" and his Doctorate in Medicine in 2016 with the thesis "Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and the Exercise: Impact of the Disease on Functional Decline and Importance of Exercise Training in Health Benefits" by the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

Since starting her professional life, Fátima Rodrigues realized that something that brought her a lot of personal fulfillment would be to be able to contribute to the training of peers, so she became a Guest Assistant in Medicine – Pulmonology at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa and at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. As she evolved along her path, she focused more and more on the Higher Education community, becoming an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, where she had the opportunity to once again stamp her professional mark with the possibility of guide students in work leading to masters and doctorates, such as Trainer at the Escola Superior de Saúde de Alcoitão in the degree courses in Physiotherapy and in the Post-graduation in Physiotherapy, and also in the field of research as a Researcher at the Institute of Environmental Health and Laboratório Associado Terra. So that knowledge is always as transmitted as possible, she also decides to become a national trainer in several courses dealing with the Pathophysiology of Exercise in Patients with Respiratory Pathology.
