Farooq Rahman BSc, PhD, FRCP

Farooq Rahman is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University College Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London. He studied medicine at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London and completed his Gastroenterology specialist training on the North East London rotation. He obtained his PhD studying the immunopathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease.

He is a luminal Gastroenterologist with extensive experience in general gastroenterology and hepatology. His sub specialty interests include inflammatory bowel disease, clinical nutrition & intestinal failure, and endoscopy. He also regularly sees patients with irritable bowel syndrome, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, bile salt malabsorption, and radiation enteritis. He remains actively involved in undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research at UCLH/UCL.
