She established and is currently heading the Department of Family Medicine at Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, which is one of the largest not-for-profit Pvt. hospitals in the country. After graduating from Baqai Medical University in 2002, she completed her Masters in Clinical Research and a four-year postgraduate training in Family Medicine from Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi in 2009. The same year she became a Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS) and a Member of RCGP (MRCGP international). She further went on to complete a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from the same University in 2014. In 2015, she was awarded a Gold medal and a “Young Research Scholar” award for her clinical trial on the efficacy of Turmeric and Black seeds in Metabolic syndrome (TAK-METS). She has more than 30 publications to her credit and is editor in chief of Pakistan’s only Primary care Journal “LNJPC”. She is the founder and member of the MRCGP international and overseas network. Recently she managed to establish a Geriatric primary care unit which is a state of art facility introduced by Liaquat National Hospital for the first time in Pakistan.
