Farah R. Abdulla, M.D., is that rare individual who chooses to go where others don't. As a dermatologist and dermatopathologist, Dr. Abdulla specializes in the research and treatment of cutaneous lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that affects the skin. Because so few people develop cutaneous lymphoma, it's considered an “orphan” disease with relatively few Food and Drug Administration-approved agents to treat it. Dr. Abdulla is determined to change that. “I want patients who suffer from this disease to have hope,” she says.

Dr. Abdulla earned her medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University and continued her training at the University of Cincinnati and Stanford University. Before joining City of Hope, Dr. Abdulla directed the Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Lymphoma Clinic at the University of Chicago Medical Center. She's also lent her expertise to the U.S. Department of Defense and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world's largest general scientific society.

Dr. Abdulla is engaged in numerous clinical trials, and she's the author of dozens of peer-reviewed papers. She sees City of Hope as an ideal place to fulfill her “responsibility for those who suffer from medical disease and trauma.”
