Faisal Mukhtar MBBS, MD, FCAP, FASCP

Faisal Mukhtar, MBBS, MD, FCAP, FASCP is board-certified in pathology, blood banking/transfusion medicine, and cytopathology. He earned his medical degree from Khyber Medical College, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He then pursued his AP/CP pathology residency at Howard University and Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C. In 2011, Dr. Mukhtar joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham to pursue fellowships in surgical pathology and cytopathology.

He then pursued a fellowship in blood banking/transfusion medicine at the Institute of Transfusion Medicine /University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. He joined the University of Florida Department of Pathology, Immunology, and Laboratory Medicine as a member of its faculty, after serving as Medical Director of Blood Bank for 2 ½ years at Howard University Hospital. At UF Health, Dr. Mukhtar serves as a clinical associate professor and works as a Medical Director of Blood Bank and as well as a staff Cytopathologist. He is a member of AABB, College of American Pathologists, and the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
