Faisal Alotaibi is an assistant professor, director of neurosurgery training program and the director of movement disorders program at King Faisal Specialist & Research Centre and Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his neurosurgical training in stereotactic & functional neurosurgery and epilepsy surgery at the Western University in Canada. He first trained in epilepsy surgery with John Girvin during residency neurosurgery program and eventually he joined the epilepsy group at the London Health Sciences Centre at the Western University. He received his training in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at the Western University and the University of Toronto in Canada. He started his independent practice at King Faisal Specialist & Research Centre in Mid 2010 and became the director of neurosurgery and movement disorders programs.

Dr. Alotaibi is currently an active member of several local and international societies, committees, and executive boards. He is the founder and the president of the Saudi Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery Section of SANS and the president of the first international stereotactic and functional neurosurgery and 4th Saudi epilepsy society conference in Saudi Arabia. He is an editor and reviewer in local and international journals. He is involved in several local and regional task force and committees to promote the field of functional neurosurgery in Saudi Arabia and the region. He became recently the chairman of young neurosurgeons committee at AACNS and joined the medical school at the Lebanese American University in Beirut as an adjunct assistant professor. His main research interests include clinical and basic studies on the treatment of epilepsy and movement disorders, in addition, to other disorders such as psychiatric and behavioral disorders.
