Fady Balaa MD, MMEd, FRCSC

Dr. Balaa received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Ottawa and his MD degree at the University of Western Ontario in 2000. Dr. Balaa then returned to University of Ottawa and completed a residency in General Surgery, followed by two clinical fellowships: Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Ottawa, and Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Balaa has a keen interest in medical education. He has completed a Masters degree in Medical Education through the Center for Medical Education at the University of Dundee. His interest in surgical education relates to curriculum development and assessment tools for surgical skills programs. He recently completed a term as Program Director for the Division of General Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine.
