Dr. Fabricio Goncalves is a Neuroradiology Research Fellow within the Division of Neuroradiology in the Department of Radiology at CHOP. After completing his MD at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, Brazil, he served for two years as Lieutenant Doctor aboard the NAsH Oswaldo Cruz U-18 bringing healthcare to remote populations in the Amazon. He completed a residency in radiology and two one-year fellowships (general MRI and neuroradiology) at Hospital Santa Lucia de Brasília, and then went on to complete a two-year fellowship in neuroradiology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, which included a rotation at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Dr. Goncalves holds the European Diplomas of Neuroradiology and Pediatric Radiology. He served as President of the Radiology Society of Brasilia and was the founder of the Latin American School of Pediatric Neuroradiology. His current research focuses on pediatric primary mitochondrial disorders, in particular on quantitative magnetic resonance spectroscopy and absolute quantitative measurement of brain metabolites with LCModel.
