Fabiana Barzotto Kohlrausch has a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2000), a Master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology (2003), and a PhD in Sciences (Genetics and Molecular Biology; 2008) from the same university (with additional experience as a doctoral student at the PDEE course at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain). She completed a Post-Doctorate at the National Cancer Institute (INCA-RJ). Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Universidade Federal Fluminense. She has experience in the field of Genetics, with an emphasis on Human and Medical Genetics, working mainly on the following topics: Pharmacogenetics, Psychiatric Genetics, and Population Genetics. Mother of two girls (8 and 5 years old).
