Fabian Salazar Lizama, BSc, MSc, PhD is a postdoctoral research fellow at the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology at the University of Aberdeen working in understanding the role of novel lectin receptors in adaptive antifungal immunity. PhD in Immunology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, where Lizama investigated the role of C-type lectin receptors in the regulation of the immune responses to airborne allergens. Lizama also holds a Biochemistry degree and MSc in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the University of Chile from which Lizama got experience in the purification and characterisation of antimicrobial peptides with biotechnological applications whose research lead to a patent of invention been granted in Chile. Currently, Lizama also a member of the Fundacion Ciencia y Tecnologia para el Desarrollo in Chile.
