Evelina Basenko MSc, PhD

Dr. Evelina Y. Basenko, MSc, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Liverpool. She received her Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Georgia. She is a senior Scientific Outreach and Education Specialist with FungiDB.org. FungiDB is a component of the VEuPathDB.org project and is a free online bioinformatics resource for fungal and oomycete species. She serves as a liaison between FungiDB and fungal and oomycete research communities. Her role includes organizing and teaching workshops, generating tutorials, delivering webinars, contributing to manuscripts and grants, supporting omics scale dataset integration and quality assurance of the integrated data, answering user support inquiries, and participating in other VEuPathDB team projects. Her research interests include Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, and Cell Biology.
