Evangelos I. Giotakis MD, PhD

Evangelos Giotakis during his 5 years of residency, the doctor was the first surgeon in more than 1000 surgical procedures. The doctor received a broad specialization in all aspects of Otorhinolaryngology – Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Athens in 2009. His Ph.D., concerning the inverted papilloma of the nose and the paranasal sinuses, was awarded as “Basic Research of the Year” by the European Rhinlogic Society. After completing his residency in Germany he stayed as an Academic Observer in the Department of Otolaryngology – Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the NYU (New York University) in the USA under contract for a period of 4 months. During the above period, the doctor had the chance to work with a plethora of excellent physicians and surgeons and stood out with his medical and surgical competence.

After leaving NY, the doctor returned to Europe and stayed as an Academic Observer in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery of the Hospital Gustave Roussy in Paris, France. Gustave Roussy is one of the largest oncologic hospitals in Europe where the doctor had the chance to specialize in all aspects of Head and Neck Oncology as well as Plastic Reconstructive Surgery of the Head and Neck. From 2012 to 2016 the doctor returned to Germany and worked as an Associate Clinic Director in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Facial Plastic Surgery in the city of Karlsruhe.

Evangelos Giotakis was chief of the pediatric otorhinolaryngology department, the department of Head and Neck Surgery, and the department of aesthetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery. The doctor was also responsible for the training of residents and specialized doctors as well as foreign doctors that visited the clinic in order to gain extra expertise in the above fields of Otorhinolaryngology – Facial Plastic Surgery. Furthermore, the doctor was allocated from the University Clinic of Freiburg, Germany as a clinical lecturer for students at the medical as well as the nursing university. In 2015 he was awarded the specialization of “Facial Plastic Surgery” after successfully passing the German Board Exams for facial plastic surgery (Zusatzbezeichnung: Plastische Operatonen).

Evangelos Giotakis's career as a doctor has been a lecturer at multiple international congresses, trainer, and director of surgical courses, writer of medical book chapters as well a pioneer in surgical procedures. He has been the first surgeon in more than 3000 surgical cases, His medical publications, and his involvement as a reviewer in multiple world-known medical journals for ENT – Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery conclude his dedication to Otorhinolaryngology – Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Since 2016 the doctor is working as a consultant otolaryngologist in the 1st University Clinic for Otolaryngology in Athens, Greece.
