Dr. Olech is associate professor of medicine and chief of rheumatology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the Medical Academy in Poland. Following completion of internal medicine internship and residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL, she pursued a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Before joining the School of Medicine, Dr. Olech was assistant member at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Oklahoma. She is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. Dr. Olech has extensive experience in clinical rheumatology. Her main interest is rheumatoid arthritis and she is particularly interested in musculoskeletal imaging.

Several of Dr. Olech’s research projects focused on rheumatology arthritis and the evaluation of MRI as an outcome measure in clinical trials and in rheumatology practice. She has authored a number of publications on rheumatoid arthritis, and presented on numerous occasions on this topic. Actively involved as a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials studying efficacy and safety of new biologic therapies for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, Dr. Olech also has experience in conducting research studies in systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis, Sjogren’s syndrome, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Dr. Olech is one of the founding members of the International Society of Extremity MRI in Rheumatology, where she serves currently as membership secretary and website committee chair. Dr. Olech is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
