Dr Eva Caamaño-Gutierrez is the director of the Computational Biology Facility (CBF), part of Liverpool Shared Research Facilities, hosted within the Institute of Systems, Molecular and Integrative Biology. The Facility provides advanced services in computational biology, data science, software and database development, and training in -omics analyses and programming, serving both internal and external stakeholders.

As Director, Dr Caamaño-Gutierrez leads a team of data professionals, overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of a broad portfolio of research and service projects. She has particular expertise in health bioinformatics, providing oversight for projects spanning data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation. She represents the Facility at national and international forums and leads the development and delivery of high-impact training programmes, including R for Beginners and R for Data Science, which are cornerstone offerings of the Facility.

Dr Caamaño-Gutierrez obtained her undergraduate degree in Biotechnology in Spain before moving to the United Kingdom in 2010 to join the University of Warwick as a Research Assistant in the laboratory of Dr Jose Gutierrez-Marcos. She was subsequently awarded a fully funded place at the Warwick Systems Biology Doctoral Training Centre, where she completed an MSc and PhD in Systems Biology.
