Esther Soo Hyun KimMD, MPH, RPVI
Dr. Kim is a cardiologist and vascular medicine specialist in the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute. She treats patients with a range of cardiovascular disorders but has a special interest in patients with uncommon arterial disorders including fibromuscular dysplasia, spontaneous coronary artery dissection, and aneurysmal disease. She has authored several research publications and book chapters on these disorders. Dr. Kim’s other major interest includes non-invasive vascular imaging using both physiologic testing and duplex ultrasound. She is a registered physician in Vascular Interpretation and has lectured extensively on vascular ultrasonography. She holds leadership positions in several national cardiovascular societies including the Society for Vascular Medicine, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Heart Association. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for Vascular Medicine, the premier peer-reviewed vascular medicine journal.
A graduate of Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Kim also holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins and completed fellowships in Cardiology and Vascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic.
