Dr. Eslam Youssef completed his MD at Cairo University School of Medicine in Egypt, where he also received a Master's and PhD degrees and completed his diagnostic and interventional radiology training. He went on to complete his diagnostic radiology training at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio. He then continued his training by completing an interventional radiology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where he became the chief fellow.

Dr. Youssef is involved in many research efforts, from the study of portal vein stenting in symptomatic portal malignant occlusions and stenosis to the lymphatic interventions in cancer patients and preoperative embolization of spinal metastatic tumors. Before joining the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences in 2022, Dr. Youssef had nearly a decade of faculty and teaching experience, starting back when he was in Cairo. In addition to dozens of publications, Dr. Youssef has also served in several hospital and administrative appointments.
