Dr. Erin Goertzen (“Dr. Erin”) joined the Niagara Kids Dentistry team in 2020 and continues her commitment to providing thoughtful and personalized dental care to the pediatric patients of the Niagara region. After graduating from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Science, Honours degree in Biology, Dr. Goertzen obtained her Master of Science degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology from the University of Western Ontario. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto, followed by a General Practice Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Dr. Goertzen then completed her Pediatric Dentistry Specialty program at the University of Toronto, where she gained extensive experience in all aspects of pediatric dental care, including infant oral health, preventive and restorative care, behavior management, dental trauma management, and treatment under minimal, moderate, and general anesthesia. She trained at The Hospital for Sick Children, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Centre, where she provided a wide range of dental care to medically compromised patients and those with special healthcare needs in both clinical and operating room settings. Dr. Goertzen lives in Niagara-on-the-Lake with her husband, Cameron, a trained dental anaesthesiologist, who also provides sedation care for adult and child dental patients in the Niagara region. Dr. Goertzen is an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association, the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
