Erin E. Martin, CRNA, DNP a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for 15 years. Erin practice clinically and am also the Director of the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program in the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Erin enjoys the many challenges and rewards of both clinical practice and educating student nurse anesthetists. Erin views the provision of anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures as one of the greatest privileges in nursing and medicine - the trust that patients put in anesthesia providers is great, and so is the subsequent professional responsibility. Erin feels lucky to be able to both provide this care, and educate others on how to do so.
Martin's main objective in Martin's role as a clinical anesthetist is to provide safe, quality, patient-centered care, and to advocate for patients when they are unable to do so for themselves. In Martin's role as an educator, Erin strives to instill in students a sense of inquiry and professionalism while providing them with solid didactic and clinical preparation for a career in nurse anesthesia.
