Dr Erin Downey, Adviser - Health Unit, Health Care in Danger, International Committee of the Red Cross (Switzerland) Erin Downey, MPH, ScD has worked within strengthening crises response for national health care systems for more than 15 years. She is currently serving as Health Adviser at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), for the Health Care in Danger (HCiD) Project.
Dr. Downey leads the HCiD Communities of Concern, convened by the ICRC, and provides guidance on that Committee's direction. She plays a seminal role in mobilizing health organizations at global/regional levels to carry out activities at national levels via their members-country networks so that national health protection frameworks can be strengthened.
