Erik D. Barton MD,FAAEM,FACEP

Dr. Erik D. Barton is a UC Irvine Health emergency medicine specialist and chair of the UC Irvine School of Medicine's Department of Emergency Services.

Barton, who launched emergency medicine residency and fellowship training programs at the University of Utah while serving as chief of emergency medicine for a dozen years, joined UC Irvine Health in 2014. The co-editor of the textbook Emergency Medicine: Clinical Essentials, Barton also has published 50 peer reviewed articles and nearly an equal number of monographs and book chapters. He has presented at numerous prestigious medical conferences around the world.

Barton is working on two development grants — with the Air Medical Research Institute and with Fortis Healthcare in India for global health training and development.
