Erik Berg Schmidt MD, DMSc, FESC

Erik Berg Schmidt receives the award for his efforts in research into what diet means for cardiovascular disease - especially the effect of fish and fish oils. In 2004, he became one of the first clinical professors at Aalborg University Hospital and has been central to building research at the Department of Cardiology. For the past 25 years, Erik Berg Schmidt has been head of the Cardiovascular Research Center at Aalborg University Hospital.
