Dr. Erica Mayer is a nationally recognized medical oncologist specializing in the care of patients with breast cancer at all stages and serves as the director of Breast Cancer Clinical Research in the Dana-Farber Breast Oncology Program.
Dr. Mayer has led national and global clinical trials to address some of the most pressing questions in breast oncology. Her work has focused on novel agents for breast cancer, with a special interest in identifying strategies to improve the tolerability and feasibility of the newest cancer therapies. She also leads the Dana-Farber Breast Cancer in Pregnancy Program, overseeing the care of and research for women diagnosed with breast cancer in pregnancy. She is the director of the Advanced Fellowships in Breast Oncology and mentors students, residents, and fellows at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber.
Dr. Mayer received her MD from Harvard Medical School, completed her residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and her fellowship in medical oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She also obtained a Master's in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. She joined the staff of Dana-Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2006, where she is a breast cancer medical oncologist and clinical investigator in the Breast Oncology Center.
