Eric Wery BNSc, MPH, MHSc, MBA

Eric Wery Vice President at VCLS is responsible for leading the global market access function. This includes the scientific oversight of market access projects and the management of a team of experienced market access experts. He also works closely with clients to make sure that market access aspects are taken into consideration early enough in the products lifecycle. Eric brings to the position 23 years of experience in the health sector, including 18 years in the wide market access sector. He has substantial experience, understanding, and expertise in defining market access strategies and tactics, generating health economics, outcomes research and real-world evidence. This ensures that he is able to effectively communicate a products’ clinical, economic and humanistic value to institutional payers and health technology assessors, clinical and patient stakeholders.

Before joining VCLS, Eric worked for 11 years in the market access consulting arms of several major clinical research, real-world data and distributor organizations. During this time, he held senior positions in both the biopharmaceutical (UCB Pharma) and the medical device (Medtronic) industry.

Prior to this, Eric worked as an epidemiologist for a Belgian public organization, and for several years as a specialist nurse in ICU/ER hospital settings. He also taught International Health Technology Assessment and Market Access at the University of Ferrara. Eric is an ICU/ER clinician by background and holds a Masters in Public Health and Health Sciences from the University of Brussels, and an Executive MBA in Entrepreneurship and Business Development from the University of Geneva.
