Eric Morton Trautmann is a neuroscientist and engineer, and an Adjunct Professor in the UC Davis Department of Neurological Surgery. He works on developing systems for large-scale electrophysiology in primates and humans, and using these systems to understand the computations underlying complex motor behaviors. His goal is to create transformational brain-computer interface systems that enable research and treatment of a wide range of neurological disorders and diseases.

His undergrad and master's are from Dartmouth, where he worked on autonomous robotics for exploring polar regions. He worked for several years in Physical Sciences. Inc. in Andover, MA, before going to grad school in Neuroscience at Stanford, where he worked with Dr. Krishna Shenoy. He then postdoc with Dr. Mark Churchland, Dr. Michael Shadlen, and Dr. Daniel Wolpert at Columbia. He currently resides in NYC and works with the team remotely.
