Eric Swanson MD

Dr. Swanson attended University of California in San Diego. He left sunny California to earn his MD from Rush University Medical College in Chicago, where he discovered pathology combined many different medical fields, and found the mystery of the work interesting. He returned to complete a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at University of California, Los Angeles, where he also served as Chief Resident, and continued with the fellowship in gastrointestinal and liver pathology.

Dr. Swanson, his wife Shannon (an audiologist at Primary Children’s), and their daughter Maren love the family lifestyle here in Utah. Although they’ve been in Utah only a little longer then a month, they’ve been able to enjoy farmer’s markets, Park Silly, hiking, Red Butte Gardens, Natural History Museum, and the not-so-big city life. Going from a 1-hour commute to 7 minutes also improves the quality of life. Dr. Swanson enjoys all types of outdoor sports; fly fishing, skiing, snowboarding, biking and surfing (the ocean, not wake surfing… yet). “We are very happy to be here, to enjoy the outdoors and a better family lifestyle.”
