Eric R Eggenberger, DO, MSEpi, FAAN is a Professor and Vice-Chairman in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology in the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Human Medicine at Michigan State University (MSU). In addition, he serves as Director of the MSU Ocular Motility Laboratory and National Multiple Sclerosis Society Clinic. He earned both his BS and DO degrees from MSU. Following osteopathic medical school, he completed residencies in internal medicine and neurology at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL, and he performed a clinical fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at The Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

In addition to being recognized as a Fellow in the American Academy of Neurology, he is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Osteopathic Association, and the North American Neuro-Opthalmology Society. Specializing in multiple sclerosis and neuro-ophthalmology, he has published numerous books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed journal articles on these topics. He is also a reviewer for several leading journals including Brain, the Annals of Internal Medicine, the Archives of Neurology, and the Journal of Neuro-ophthalmology.
