Eric Murillo-Rodriguez is a Psychologist and Ph.D. in Science, both degrees obtained by the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City (Mexico). During my doctoral training, He visited Prof. Daniele Piomelli´s lab at the University of California, Irvine (Irvine, CA. USA). Later, he did a visit Harvard Medical School for his postdoctoral training (Boston, MA. USA). At the same time, he did an academic visit to Stanford University (Medical School. Palo Alto, CA. USA). In 2005, he came back to Mexico to join as Research Associate in Prof. René Drucker-Colín´s lab at the Institute of Cellular Physiology, National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico, City). In 2007, He joined the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Campeche as Full Professor (Campeche, Campeche. Mexico). Lastly, in 2009, He joined the School of Medicine, Division of Health Sciences at the University Anahuac Mayab as a Full Professor, and later as a Research Coordinator of the School of Medicine (2013-2018; Merida, Yucatan. Mexico). He has been involved in several academic activities, from teaching at the undergraduate level to coordinating postgraduate courses. He is an Editor and Reviewer in scientific journals such as PLoS ONE, Journal of Neurology, NEJM, etc. His scientific production includes over 100 articles published in peer-review journals, 15 chapters in books, and numerous presentations in domestic and international scientific meetings. He belongs a member of several scientific societies, including the Society for Neuroscience. He has received academic awards such as the Young Investigator Award from the World Federation of Sleep Research and Sleep Research Society and he is a member of the National System of Researchers (Level II ) of the National Council of Science and Technology (México).
