Eric Klann is Professor and Director of the Center for Neural Science at New York University. Dr. Klann received his Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 1989, did postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine with Dr. David Sweatt, and previously held faculty positions at the University of Pittsburgh and Baylor College of Medicine. His research is focused on the molecular mechanisms of translational control and their role in activity-dependent changes in synaptic function and behavior, including cognition. He also studies how dysregulated translational control contributes to altered synaptic function and aberrant behaviors in developmental brain disorders and neurodegenerative disease.
