Eric Gowans was previously Director, Sir Albert Sakzewski Virus Research Centre, Brisbane from 1995-2002 when he joined the Burnet Institute as a Senior Principal Research Fellow.
He is now an NHMRC Senior Research Fellow in the University of Adelaide but retains his links through an honorary appointment in the Burnet Institute. His primary interests are in developing novel strategies for vaccines for hepatitis C virus and human immunodeficiency virus.
