Emmanuelle Godeau is a Public Health medical doctor and holds as well a PhD in social anthropology. She works for the French Ministry of Education in Toulouse and belongs to a medical research unit (UMR 1027 Inserm - University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France). She is the French Principal investigator for the international Health behaviour in school-aged children survey (conducted under the World Health Organisation WHO auspices) in France since 2000. Her research topics are health and health behaviours of young people in context, risk behaviours as well as inclusive education. She has founded and chairs the Chronic conditions group of researchers within HBSC since 2010. This group aims at promoting research on students with chronic conditions and special needs within the HBSC network, either related to the main HBSC survey or through linked projects. Since 2007, Emmanuelle Godeau is as well the president of l' Esperlette a local French charity dedicated at children with severe chronic conditions and their families, aiming at provided promoting an inclusive society.
