Emmanuelle D. Williams MD

Dr. Emmanuelle Williams is committed to combining her medical aspirations with education after her experience teaching at a boarding school following her college graduation. She has been involved in educational initiatives ever since she arrived at Penn State. Dr. Williams has been the course director for the second-year gastroenterology course, the gastroenterology clinical elective rotation, and, since 2013, the co-director of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum. A more recent interest for Dr. Williams has been in the area of wellness and burnout. She has been a representative for the Division of Gastroenterology and for the Department of Medicine on a campus-wide level for wellness initiatives.

In July 2019, Dr. Williams became the Associate Dean for Student Affairs for the College of Medicine's MD Program. In that role, she will engage with students in all phases of the curriculum leading to the completion of the medical degree to guide them in their development as physicians, in the achievement of the College's competencies, and in finding their paths to their career goals.
