Miss Emma Rose McGlone (FRCS Ph.D.) is an NIHR-funded Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Surgery and Cancer. She is a general surgical registrar with a specialist interest in bariatric surgery.
Her main areas of research are to understand the role of bariatric surgery in the improvement of fatty liver disease and diabetes; in particular the contribution of improved glucagon sensitivity.
During her Ph.D., she was awarded a grant from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an MRC clinical research training fellowship. She has received support from the Society for Endocrinology with an early career grant. She has also been awarded a Starter Grant for Clinical Lecturers by the Academy of Medical Sciences.
