Emma Chambers PhD

Emma Chambers undertook her degree, ‘Immunology with Study in Industry’ at the University of Bristol, and during that time was awarded the British Society for Immunology award for Best Immunology Student. After graduating Emma went on to complete a PhD in Professor Catherine Hawrylowicz’s lab at Kings College London, where her work focussed on the immunomodulatory properties of Vitamin D in vitro and in vivo. During her PhD Emma published a number of important papers discussing the immunological features of moderate/severe asthmatics that are clinically refractory to steroid treatment, and the beneficial effects of calcitriol treatment in this cohort.
