Emma is a lecturer and researcher in infection prevention. She completed my nurse training in Dundee in 1991 and worked in a range of clinical areas before specializing in infection prevention in 1996. During this time, she had responsibilities for acute and primary care in Angus, Dundee, and Perth. She completed my BN and SPQ in infection prevention in 2000 and MSc in 2007. Emma moved to the University in 2008 and completed her PGCert in 2010. She is currently undertaking a Ph.D. exploring risk perceptions and responses of the public, healthcare, and media professionals in relation to Clostridium difficile. Emma's research interests include infection prevention behavior, patient experiences, patient safety, the media, social media and service, and professional development. She is also a member of the Infection Prevention Society Research and Development Committee.
