Emily Wessling MD

Emily Wessling is currently working as an instructor at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. Originally from New York, Emily graduated cum laude with distinction in research and a dual major from Cornell University. She graduated from medical school at Case Western Reserve University with distinctions in research and civic professionalism. Emily completed her residency at Northwestern University, where she fostered her interest in clinical operations and quality improvement working on multiple projects analyzing department operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. During residency, Emily also participated in the Academy for Quality and Safety Improvement (AQSI) where she led a multi-disciplinary team of providers to improve ordering practices for advanced imaging modalities within the ED. During her transition to fellowship, her interests have continued to reflect a hybrid of clinical operations, quality improvement, and patient safety.
