Dr. Emily Riehm Meier is currently working as a global medical director at Pfizer. Dr. Meier attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her Pediatric Residency, Chief Residency, and Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. As the director of the sickle cell program at Children’s National, Dr. Meier implemented a group clinic visit model for newly diagnosed infants and their families as well as educational conferences for families and patients living with sickle cell disease to learn more about bone marrow transplant as a curative option.

Dr. Meier has over 15 years of experience in caring for infants, children, and adolescents with sickle cell disease and other benign hematologic disorders. Dr. Meier has a special interest in sickle cell disease and other benign hematologic disorders. She has co-authored over 35 peer-reviewed papers in journals including The New England Journal of Medicine and American Journal of Hematology.
