Dr Emil Salmo is a UK-based Consultant Pathologist in the Department of Histopathology at The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, with clinical and academic expertise in diagnostic pathology and digital pathology. He has been invited as a distinguished speaker at the 16th Emirates Pathology, Digital Pathology, & Cancer Conference in Dubai (April 9-11, 2026), where he will present on “The Real-World Value of Digital Pathology: Efficiency, Safety, and Better Care.”

In his professional role, Dr Salmo applies histopathological methods to diagnose disease and improve patient care through the integration of digital and computational tools. The Royal College of Pathologists, the UK’s principal professional membership organisation for pathologists, supports training, examinations (including the recognised Fellowship FRCPath), and continued professional development in pathology specialties to uphold high standards of clinical practice and education across the discipline.
