Emerson M. Wickwire PhD

Emerson M. Wickwire, PhD, is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he directs the Insomnia Program. Dr. Wickwire has published over 100 articles, books chapters, and abstracts and is a recognized expert in the non-drug treatments of sleep disorders as well as leveraging technology to improve patient care. Dr. Wickwire is currently Principal Investigator of four or more major research projects funded by the US government, private foundation, and industry partners. His research focuses on 1) big data approaches to understanding health and economic outcomes of sleep disorders and their treatments, as well as 2) remote monitoring/mhealth approaches to sleep health management. Personally, Dr. Wickwire is deeply interested in literature, the Arts, and the life of the mind.
