Elzbieta Senkus-konefka MD, PhD

Dr Elzbieta Senkus-Konefka is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy, Medical University of Gdansk, Poland. She graduated from the Medical University of Gdansk and finished training in Radiation Oncology in 1998 and in Medical Oncology in 2004. In 1995 she obtained a PhD on brachytherapy of cervical cancer. Her main scientific interest in breast cancer is molecular basis of disease in high-risk patients. She is the Faculty Member for Breast Cancer of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and European School of Oncology (ESO).

She is also involved in developing international guidelines for early and metastatic breast cancer as the Section Editor of ESMO Guidelines Committee. Dr Senkus-Konefka is actively involved in clinical research, including national and international academic and industry sponsored programs. She has coordinated 2 national phase III studies and currently is responsible for coordinating some international programs on a national basis. She also serves on Steering Committees of a number of international clinical trials.
