Elpidoforos S. Soteriades MD, MSc, ScD

Dr. Elpidoforos S. Soteriades is an Occupational Medicine Physician – Epidemiologist with an additional specialty in Preventive Medicine. He is an expert in cardiovascular diseases among Firefighters and other Occupational Groups. He has also done extensive research on smoking among adolescents and different infectious diseases. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Public Health, College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University. He also holds an appointment as a Visiting Scientist at the Department of Environmental Health, Harvard School of Public Health. He is also a visiting instructor in Environmental Epidemiology and Applied Public Health at the University of Thessaly School of Medicine in Larissa, Greece and an Instructor of Public Health and Health Promotion at the Open University of Cyprus.

Dr. Soteriades has published a book on Smoking Cessation and also contributed to a Textbook on Travel Medicine, and a book on Health Risks in the Fire Service. He has also published more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals.
