r. Ellen Field earned her undergraduate degree at Wilkes College and received her doctorate from Hahnemann Medical College, completing her residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. She was a postdoctoral research fellow in Rheumatology and Immunology at Harvard Medical School and completed her fellowship at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has been in private practice in Rheumatology since 1983.

A fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, Dr. Field has held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and Hahnemann University, as well as an appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson Medical University in Philadelphia. She’s served as a faculty member of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry and the International Rheumatology Network, and was the Chair of the Metabolic Bone Study Group for the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Field has consulted for several pharmaceutical companies and participated in both national and local medical forums.

Dr. Field has served on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern PA chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and the Central chapter of the Pennsylvania Osteoporosis Society. She has participated in clinical research and has published several articles in peer review journals on osteoporosis, lupus, and related syndromes. Dr. Field actively participates in teaching residents in Primary Care Medicine and has lectured nationally and internationally to physicians and allied health professionals.
