Elizabeth Serieux is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. She joined the faculty in January 2018, after completing a Ph.D. in Health Promotion and Behavior as well as a Master's Degree in Health Policy and Management, both at the University of Georgia (UGA). She also earned certificates in Gerontology, Global Health, Disaster Management, and Instructional Design. Her undergraduate degree is in Psychology and was earned from the St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia Canada.

Dr. Serieux, who is originally from the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, is a member of the Delta Omega – National Honor Society in Public Health, Sigma Phi Omega – the International Academic and Professional Honor Society in Gerontology, and the American Public Health Association. She is also a Rotary Alum, having been awarded a Global Scholarship in the area of Disease Prevention and Treatment. Dr. Serieux is passionate about implementing research and applying knowledge to improve life experiences, particularly for people in underserved and disadvantaged contexts. She is also profoundly interested in Positive Psychology, enjoys reading and loves traveling, and is a certified Spinning and BodyPump Instructor.
