Elizabeth Saenz, MD, Pediatrician, MSc PHDC, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, MSc MCH, ICH, University College London, UK.

She works with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) - Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section/Drug Prevention and Health Branch since 2007 as an expert on drug dependence treatment, and since 2010 as a project coordinator. In this role, she is responsible for the coordination of a portfolio of drug treatment global projects such as Treatment II and the UNODC-WHO joint program on Drug Dependence Treatment and Care. These programs aim at enhancing the institutional knowledge and understanding of the Governments, civil society, and UN agencies of evidence-based drug treatment, and at developing and/or improving national, governmental, and inter-governmental policies, strategies, plans, and cooperation on this issue. She has also been involved in the development of key technical tools publications produced by UNODC over the past ten years.
