Dr. Elizabeth Gaufberg is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, and the Jean and Harvey Picker Director of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Research Institute. She directs the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Professional Development and leads the reflective practice curriculum for the Cambridge Integrated Clerkship. Liz loves using the arts to help medical trainees and faculty reflect on their experience, and has established an active collaboration between the Cambridge Health Alliance and the Harvard Art Museum. She is a founding editor of the CHA Literary Arts Journal, Auscultations. Her innovative curricula on professional boundaries, the stigma of addictions, and the hidden curriculum are in use in hundreds of medical training institutions worldwide. She is married to Slava Gaufberg, an emergency physician and residency training director, and together they are raising 4 daughters.
