Elizabeth E. Galletta, Ph.D. involved in both clinical and research activities at NYU Langone. As a trained speech-language pathologist, Galletta evaluates and treats patients with acquired speech-language and cognitive-linguistic disorders secondary to stroke, traumatic brain injury, or neurologic disease.

Galletta also run the Neurolinguistics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory at Rusk Rehabilitation, where Elizabeth's research combines behavioral speech-language treatment for aphasia with activities to promote neuroplasticity, such as noninvasive brain stimulation and aerobic exercise. Elizabeth's research focuses on aphasia rehabilitation after stroke, with the broad aim of helping stroke survivors to improve language and communication.

Additionally, at NYU Langone Galletta coordinate the aphasia and Parkinson’s disease community groups and the Rusk Rehabilitation Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Program. As an affiliated faculty member in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, Galletta teaches graduate students about aphasia.
