Dr. Elizabeth Cottrill obtained her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University before matriculating to medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She then completed her residency training in Otorhinolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania followed by a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic and Endocrine Surgery at Penn State Medical Center. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where she specializes in head and neck surgery with a focus on endocrine surgery, specifically thyroid cancer.

She has numerous publications, has spoken at many national meetings, and is actively involved in thyroid cancer research. She is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Head and Neck Society, and the American Thyroid Association where she serves on the membership committee. She is also a member of the Endocrine Society and serves as a liaison to the AHNS Endocrine Surgery Section.
